Stupid Computer, really stupid tooth

The motherboard on the tablet decided that it had a full life and it was time to move on the great junk pile in the sky. We pulled the hard drive and with some modifications we got that to talk to the Mac. So I was able to save some of my stuff but as per the norm for me the back up didn't include my address book or saved e-mails.
I've kiddnapped Andy's laptop for the short term but have not had a chance to set up my e-mail on another machine yet. I'm a bit grumpy about it. Come December/January I'll be able to get a new laptop (we are planning on a Mac ^_^). But in the mean time I'm going to be jumping between machines. At some point I'll get my Dad to give me a hand reconnecting to the mail server. You'd think I'd remember to actually write down the important stuff some where that wasn't the computer. I don't want to think about how many times I've lost this stuff. >_<
Okay, this is just not my day. Just got off the phone with the dentist, they have decided that . . . well the current plan to finish my implant is not going to work. Should have had the crown in by the end of the month and been done. Last October I was told six months. I don't know how long this new type is going to take. I don't know if I'm going to lose the money I already paid on the first abutment ($500) or how much more this is going to cost. I hate this.
Grump. Grump. Grump.
I am missing
Hugs to all.

I am currently lying on the floor in the family room with my daughter attempting to tie my feet together with a scarf.
We are sort of watching 3rd season Animaniacs. It may not be completely age appropriate but it is better than yet another repeat of Elmo’s World. Sanity may not be my strong point but I do want to keep a passing acquaintance with it. ^_^
The last several weeks have been interesting, we have all taken turns getting quite sick. Andy’s Mom is in
Ailiea is still learning that she shouldn’t chase the cat, but Letters is settling in very nicely. Though she (the cat not the kid) does want to play or sit on our heads at four in the morning.

Much Randomness

I finally got around to updating again. No wonderful excuses besides being somewhat busy and lazy.
Our kitchen remodel is finished. I'm thrilled; it was worth the three plus weeks without a working kitchen. The sink is big enough to wash cookie trays in and the new full convection oven is wonderful (it even has the temperatures between 325 and 400F, such a useful thing!). The dishwasher is pretty quiet and can wash silverware. And best of all not only do we have a gas cook top now but we have useful counter space!
I do feel a little silly being so excited about these things but out old kitchen had none of the above and the cabinets were literally falling apart and were the color of rotten avocados. Really.
We just adopted a kitten this weekend. We've been looking for about a month and finally everything just fell into place. She is a 10 month old (they think) brown, black and white tiger striped short haired cutey. Ailiea named her Letters. She is very affectionate and like being in the same room as me as long as there is no fast moving children around. She is a little nervous, but given that she was found in a box by the side of the road by the Humane Society she may have some good reasons for that. She also seems to be a talker. We are very smitten.
My vegetable garden if finally planted. We had to rent a tiller to reclaim the area but now all my seedling are in so I'm pretty pleased. We still have a lot of garden space that I need to figure out if there is anything worth saving or if I should just restart from scratch. A couple areas have daylilies mixed in with purple lustrife (sp?) and other invasives. I did find a couple of peonies and roses this spring all in kind of weird spots though. There are also a couple yuccas and lots of poison ivy.
Andy and I are still playing WOW, and yes it does suck out your soul. Our main characters (Night Elves) are 55th. We’ve started a couple others: we play Blood Elves (very screwed up race, very) with a friend and we started another group with that friend and another (two draenei: paladin and shaman, a dwarf and a night elf rogue).
I guess that is all for the random update today. I am going to try to keep up with this in a more timely manner. We see how that works.
Hugs.

Catch up time

Our friend just had a little one, Quinn will be 6 weeks old this week and I'm taking care of him for an hour or two in the afternoon starting today. E has finally been okayed to go back to work. Quinn is a cute little thing and I get enough time with him that it is satisfying my want a new baby urges. Don't really want another of my own just yet, if ever, but baby cuddles are so wonderful.
PT has done wonders for my back -- in a month and a half I've gone from not being able to lift Ailiea and not being able to do much because of the pain to almost fully functional. I have to do a lot of exercises to strengthen my back an ab muscles but small price for being pain free.
We are thinking of getting a kitten for Ailiea'a birthday (she is going to be three! O_o Where did time go?).
One of the guys at work got us addicted to WoW, I tried it under protest, having horrid memories of EQ. But Andy really wanted to try it and they have a free trial. Yup, our primary characters just hit 32 lvl. ~_~
Playing the game spawned the creating of a couple of new characters. They are insisting that I work with them and not letting me write any of the other stories right now.
I can't think of anything else right now and its nap time.
Hugs.

She is really enjoying her swimming lessons with Grammie and is getting quite independent in the pool.
In other news I'm starting to write again --
In other random news:
My sister was visiting from Alaska and it was wonderful to have her here. She finally got to see the house and we were able to show here what the planned renovations are. Ailiea decided that Katy was the best thing going while she was here and called her by name as soon as she saw her. Pretty good considering the last time they saw each other was over a year ago.
We are planning on getting the kitchen redone, I'm getting really excited about that. Really looking forward to having a truly workable kitchen and cabinets that have matching doors (and handles!) and aren't painted the color of a rotten avocado (Katy's description).

I'm trying to motivate myself again but not doing too well. I ended up doing a nice sketch of a baby dragon for Ailiea on the place mat when we went out for breakfast Sunday and it promptly got covered with food. Dug out my old sketch books to try and recreated the pose. Nope, not working. Maybe I should go find Ailiea's crayons.
Blah.
Okay I think I'm done whining for the moment.

New Years Resolution

This is your fault Emilie!
Let's see.
In August Andy and I went to see a house with a realtor on a whim. We figured that we should start getting an idea of what we liked before we started to really look in about a year or two. We moved in in September. Now we don't have a plastic minefield in the living room, Ailiea has her own space to explode her toys in.
We went to Arizona for Thanksgiving this year. Stayed with my grandparents. We had a wonderful time and were able to see most of the family out there. While we were out there we were able to take Ailiea to the Phoenix zoo again. She loved it and probably got more out of it than our trip last year.
The Holidays were insane as usual. Spent Saturday with my folks, lots of presents and food. Sunday we spent the afternoon with old friends, it was so good to see everybody again. Monday was Sandy's, more presents and food in the morning. Got to see most of the extended family that afternoon for dinner.
New Years weekend has been fairly quiet. We spent New Years Eve at a friends house playing games, we were home and in bed by 10:30. It almost makes me feel old.
So, I am going to try to keep up with this fairly regularly. Let's see how that actually works out. ~_~
